ASMR National Scientific Conference 2009: Neurogenetics on the Apple Isle On behalf of the Scientific Programming Committee for the ASMR NSC for 2009, we would like to invite you to attend the Neurogenetics on the Apple Isle meeting, being held from 15th-17th of November in Hobart, Australia at the Hotel Grand Chancellor. Neurogenetics is a very rapidly advancing field with many internationally recognised experts working in this area in Australia. The field covers single gene disorders such as Huntington disease and Duchenne muscular dystrophy as well as polygenic disorders such as epilepsy and Parkinson disease. This is the first time in Australia that clinicians and researchers working in diverse disease fields in neurogenetics will meet together to compare and contrast their work. It is our hope that the Neurogenetics on the Apple Isle meeting will enhance exchange of ideas nationally and internationally and establish new ways of looking at a variety of neurogenetic conditions. The NSC has already confirmed invited speakers including the 2009 Firkin Oration to be given by Professor Jonathan Flint (University of Oxford, UK) and the AWT Edwards Oration to be given by Professor Charles Watson (Curtin University, Australia). A highlight of this years meeting will be a reception at Government House. His Excellency The Honourable Peter Underwood AO, Governor of Tasmania, will be hosting the event and we greatly appreciate his recognition of the medical research community within Tasmania and his generosity in extending this invitation to our conference delegates. We look forward to your support for this exciting conference. Associate Professor Martin Delatycki Convenor, ASMR NSC ASMR Director |
